GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE

AND FEES FOR SERVICES

WHAT IS A GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE?

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (800) 368-1019.

HOW LONG DOES EACH THERAPY SESSION TAKE?

A standard Individual therapy session lasts for 50 minutes and I allow for 5 minutes for scheduling and other "house keeping" matters. For couples (or families), a session may be scheduled for 50 minutes or 75 minutes and the same 5 minutes of time allotted for scheduling or other requests. For requests made outside of session time, such as those related to collaborating with other professionals or attending to other administrative tasks, such as email correspondence that is not relevant to scheduling, you will be billed for case management services. Please refer to my private practice guidelines for specifics and other information related to legal matters or other extraordinary expenses you might be responsible for that fall outside of normal therapy services.

DO YOU OFFER SLIDING SCALE RATES?

Yes, but only for a limited amount of existing clients. I currently offer four spots for sliding scale clients at a deeply discounted rate. If you are in need of financial assistance, please discuss this with me and I will consider you for a sliding scale rate once one becomes available. I would like to assure that your engagement in services is sustainable; should you not be able to afford services, I will refer you to other resources to assure you receive care.

At this time, I do not accept any insurance or any other third party payer participant.

The time and duration for which therapy will last (or be warranted) will vary person by person. Some people benefit from brief therapy and others will desire or require more long term care.  This is to be mutually determined between client and therapist.
